Extremotollerant bacteria

The first collection of spacecraft-associated micro-organisms; a public source for extremotolerant  micro-organisms from spacecraft assembly clean rooms.

The European Space Agency is funding a collection of microbial strains from spaceflight hardware and associated assembly facilities. Housed at the DSMZ, the collection provides an important resource for research institutes and industry to investigate the adaptive mechanisms of extremotolerant bacteria.
